How We Got to What’s Next

The golf-inspired cover fit right in at the Omni PGA Frisco Resort, where ElevateAEC 2023 leaned into its surroundings. What was inside asked attendees to go beyond following the conference schedule. 

Part program, part workbook, this document created space to actively engage with the ideas taking shape on stage. Attendees worked through emerging implications of AI, explored employee ownership and succession strategies, considered the impact of purpose-driven work, and tackled other questions shaping the future of the AEC industry. 

It reflected an important part of the ElevateAEC experience where bringing big ideas into the room is only the beginning. 

Long before drones became a familiar tool across the AEC industry, the EDVY award began celebrating the new perspectives they brought to the built environment. Nearly a decade later, that tradition took the stage at ElevateAEC 2024 where McLaren Engineering Group earned the top honor for its Promontory Point video. 

The technology has evolved, but the idea behind the award has endured: find new ways to show the extraordinary work happening across the AEC industry. Today, EDVY continues that mission as part of the Marketing Excellence Awards program. 

The Speed of Business set the pace for ElevateAEC 2025, and Zweig Group President & CEO Chad Clinehens made sure nobody missed the theme. He took the mainstage in full Top Gun-inspired flight gear to explore what it takes to lead when business and the industry around it keep accelerating. 

There wasn’t much beach volleyball, but there was a room packed with leaders and learners ready to talk about moving faster, making better decisions, embracing change, and setting the pace rather than following it.
